The match was set up to be a cracker considering the weather and the buzz around Croke Park. It was around 19 degrees and there wasn’t a drop of rain in Dublin that day. Both sets of supporters and the players were hyped and completely focused on one thing, and that was winning. After what the minors produced earlier in the day, this match was only destined for greatness.
At 15:00, the Cats sprinted through the tunnel and each player pucked balls towards the Hill. Then two minutes later, Tipp burst out of the tunnel and you could really tell how hyped they were. Darren Gleeson, ran from the tunnel to the 21 meter line and drove the sliotar over the roof of Croke Park. They must have had one hell of a team talk before the game. Every single one the players were focused and up for the occasion.
