The book I am reviewing is Maze Runner by James Dashner. The book is about a boy called Thomas who is dropped down to a secret world by a lift, remembering nothing but his first name. He is welcomed by an army of boys into what they call "The Glade". They have no idea why they are there or what has happened to the outside world. They work together to sustain themselves by growing food and keeping animals. The leaders explore the maze around them but must return before the doors around the Glade close and they are killed by what lives outside the walls during the night. The Glade is all boys before suddenly a girl with a message arrives telling them they must find a way out or die. Thomas and his friend Minho desperately search for a way out as their friends are slaughtered around them. Eventually a jump from the "Cliff" to the right spot leads to what the remaining Gladers hope is freedom. As they plan the escape from the science facility they found themselves in, Chuck takes a knife to the chest to save Thomas, sending the Gladers into a state of mourning once they escape the facility.
I thought this was a good book because it was tense and you never knew what would happen next and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. It was a great read and would recommend it to anyone with an interest in adventure novels.
