Malian Special Forces have entered the Radisson Blu Hotel in Mali’s capital, Bamako in a bid to stop gunmen holding 170 people. So far 30 people have been freed from the hotel but there is still hundreds inside. So far it was also confirmed that 3 people have been killed and two soldiers injured.
According to reports UN forces are clearing the building floor by floor and there is supposed no way out for the terrorists as officials have stated that they have “sealed” all exits points to the hotel and none of the hostage takers will escape.
The attack is most likely to have happened because Mali was a member of the French colony until colonisation stopped in the 16th century. The attack comes days after the Islamic group Ansar Dine took over Iyad Ag Ghaly. Finally French officials are sending over 50 Special Forces to help deal with the problem
