The first year team played Carrick on Shannon in a cold wet windy day in Lisnamult on Thursday last. The CBS got off to a great start with Daniel O’Brien pointing from a twenty one yard free. However Carrick responded with a great goal from a strong run down the heart of the CBS backline. Then from the resulting kick out Aaron Glennon ran through and scored a great goal in the Carrick net. The CBS lads worked tirelessly for the next 10 minutes to kill out any threat of a Carrick goal. The CBS half forward line were working superbly both in attack and tracking back. Before the break Carrick snatched a goal as did the CBS. The teams were set up perfectly for an exciting second half of football. After the break the CBs got off to a great start with 4 unanswered points from Alan Merriman , Darragh Hynes and substitute Oisin O’Connor. The Cbs full back line were under immense pressure now but held out for 15 mins when Carrick got a point from play .The CBS boys held out for a brilliant team performance and are on a high going into the Christmas break.
