This month’s inductee is Irish stage, film and television actor, Enda Oates. Enda was born in 1962 in County Roscommon. He attended school here in CBS Roscommon and completed his Leaving Cert in 1980. He then went on to study in Athlone Regional Technical College before becoming a civil servant, and five years later, an actor. He is currently married to his wife Louise and has one son.
In his early acting career, he was recognized as one of ‘Ireland’s foremost acting talents’. His first professional acting gig was at the opening of the Strokestown International Poetry Festival. The rest of his early career were spent on many shows and theatrical productions such as Big Maggie, The Field, City Limits and Crossmaheart.
Oates his most well-known for his parts in Glenroe (A long running RTE series), as Barreller Casey in the sitcom Upwardly Mobile and of course, Fair City. Enda is being inducted due to his work in the film and theatrical industry.
